EU BEPS expectations for the second half of 2016

The Netherlands transferred their presidency of the Council of the European Union to Slovakia. With the beginning of their presidency Slovakia presented the EU BEPS agenda for the second half of 2016.

During the Slovak term progress is expected on the EU list of third country non-cooperative jurisdictions. Possible EU defensive measures against those jurisdictions will be explored as well. In October 2016 the European Commission is expected to come with a proposal to tackle hybrid mismatches involving third countries. The Common Corporate Tax Base (CCTB) is expected to be relaunched in November 2016. The Slovak presidency intends to start the meetings on the CCTB and the proposal for hybrid mismatches before the end of their presidency.

Crowe Peak will keep monitoring EU developments in the area of BEPS. We will keep you informed of new legislative proposals and others developments.
